I have always been really slow at learning new languages.
And it sucks now because all I can do is listen
and not join into the conversation. I would think after 7 weeks I would be able to say more, but nope.
I feel though that sometime soon everything is just gonna hit me and I'll be like
"AH I CAN SPEAK GERMAN!! WHAT!?!"
But I'll obviously say that in German.
And I then won't feel like a little toddler anymore.
But until then... ugh.
Everyone here is so smart, too.
If they ask what a word is in English, they will remember it forever. Me, they have to repeat the word at least 4 times.
At least.
Most of the time 6.
Everyone also says that their English is really bad and I just want to slap them. They all are honestly fluent in English.
GAH, I'M SO JEALOUS OF THEIR BILINGUAL-NESS.
More like trilingual-ness.
America seriously needs to start teaching
foreign languages at a younger age.
YOU HEAR THAT AMERICA!!
Me and linguistics just don't go together.
I am for the most part a quick learner at everything else
(except physics, lol. yeah, no)
But with language, nah uh.
Oh lanuage epiphany, please come sooner.
Bis dann, Abbey.
*Sorry to all of you in Winona who lost a friend this week, John will be missed by many.
