four
four
that's all I see in my head today
From today, I have 4 weeks until departure to Washington DC.
then another 2 days until Frankfurt
Time is seriously moving by extremely fast.
I mean I only found out I received the scholarship 53 days ago, and now I have 28 days until I leave.
53+28=81
81 days to prepare for an entire year abroad.
Cray-Cray
but I'm totally psyched!

I have never been to DC before and I'm looking forward to not only meeting other students heading on the same path as me, but to be in DC for a political reason.
How many times will I be able to say that!?
While we are there we will  be able to:
 chill
with Congressmen
at the US Capital
How sweet is that?!
Maybe even sneak a peek at Obama!
LOL nah that ain't gonna happen.

HOLY COW, I'M LEAVING FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR.

Now that everything is starting to soak in I started thinking last night. And the only thought runny through my mind was.
Holy cow, I'm LEAVING for an entire year!
Then I had a good nights rest.

But seriously, once it starts feeling like your actually leaving, you don't know what to think.
One moment I'm all excited and the next I am so nervous.
(list why I'm so nervous)
1. I DON'T KNOW ANY GERMAN!
I have only taken 1 year of German and that is like, ZIP.
2. HOLY HOST FAMILIES!
I will stay with two families over in Deutschland. The first will be my temporary home in Miehlen. Temporary, simply because I'll only stay there for 1 month during my language immersion orientation.   They have 3 kids, a daughter Jacqueline(17), a son Joshua(15), and another son Joel(12). I'm super excited that they are my age! Also living in that town is another exchange student from Michigan! So that'll be nice.
And for my second family I'll be living in Langen Brutz. There I'll have a sister, Anne-Marie(15)and a small dog named Filou. Anne pointed out that she is only 10 months younger than me, so we'll definitely have a good time.
Hopefully they all will like me...
3. SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL and SCHOOL!
Though I'll be living in Langen Brutz, I'll be going to a
MUSIC HIGH SCHOOL
yeah, that's right
in Schwerin. Which is a city about 30 minutes away. Though I am beyond excited to go to this school, it's just that it is school. In school you have to do school work and listen to lectures... and I know no German! I know it will get better, but the first couple months there will be a lot to get used to. But Anne is going to be there so I can always ask for help.

So yeah.. it will be an interesting year.

I thought I would never start a blog.
Frankly because there's nothing too exciting in my life to blog about.
But just in the past few months I received the
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship
(CBYX)
(In Wikipedia words) This program is dually sponsored by the United States Congress and the German Bundestag. It funds exchange programs for German and American students through grants to private exchange organizations in both countries.
So, basically I'm going to Germany
for my junior year of high school.
And that's why I started this blog.
So anyhoo, here we go.
